City trip to Paris: where to go & how to get to there

If there’s only one city I could always return to for a little city trip, it is definitely Paris. And I know I’m not alone here. Paris is the perfect city in Europe for a little getaway. It’s different, it’s a big city with many neighborhoods, there’s tons of stuff to do and lots of great restaurants. I want to take you with me on an imaginary city trip to Paris today.

What areas to explore
My personal favorite area is Le Marais. Its streets are cute and lively, and a lot of great fashion brands have boutique stores there. It’s my favorite area to do some shopping. I also love Montmatre for its beautiful views (lies on top of a hill) and artistic vibe. It’s like being back in time there. I can’t get enough if all the beautiful Parisian buildings here. Everytime I visit Paris, I also make sure to visit the Eiffeltower in Saint-Germain, I mean, how can we not? It’s a must, isn’t it? If you haven’t explored Belleville yet, it’s definitely worth a visit too. It has a lot of great street food.

What and where to eat
When I think of Paris, I crave a pita falafel straight away. I love to walk around Le Marais and get a sandwich with falafel while walking the streets. There are a bunch of different falafel places at Rue des Ecouffes, and I can promise you, you can’t get them anywhere better in Europe.
If you want to have a sophisticated dinner in a typical Parisian restaurant, I would recommend Le Coupole in the Montparnasse area. It has an amazingly stylish art deco interior and the food is just something else.

How to get to Paris
Depending on where you are in the world, you can get to Paris by car, train or airplane. There are a lot of affordable bus tickets available in Europe. You can for example get a ticket from Amsterdam to Paris for only €5. Train tickets are usually slightly more expensive, but also faster than going by bus. Airfrance currently has flights for amazing prices. Check out the flight to Paris from NC, or the flight from chicago to paris .
